Hello, I spent over $4000 from last year and noting to show for!
I went throught 7 diff Dentists in the past due to not finding the " right" one I like. one will tell me nothings wrong, I don't see anything...
I went to the Root canal Specialist due to pain I had in my back tooth.
He told me nothings wrong with it.
So I went home in pain. I came home and called a Dr that's listed on my Dental.
to make the story short he found infection so I went in and got a root canal done. 3 days later pain came back. So I called the dentist who did the work but the girl was giving me a hard time when for me to come in so I had to go to my specialist for another Appt that day So I thought I'll have him take a look at it.
He wasn't happy that I got the Root canal after him telling me I had no infection. I told him I was in pain and the other Dr showed me the Xray where the infection was. He kept talking like this was all my fault!
Anyway he took an Xray and found that Root canal wasn't done yet the other Dr only took the Nerve out. SO he finished it and 5 days later I Was still in pain.
I went back, he told me he can't do anything cuz he doesn't see anythign wrong. I ended up going to the Dental ER and having it Pulled.
$500+ gone in 5 days!
At this point I don't know who to go to.
I have to get either a bridge or a uuper partial and I hate to go to Diff Dentists. But SO far I didn't find a Dr who understood where I was coming from.
Thanks for reading.
Hi, Emi106. I think you were treated terribly. You should file a complaint with the doctor who just took out the nerve: didn't finish doing the root canal. That's terrible! It makes me mad, and I really understand how frustrated, upset, angry this must have made you. Dentists often don't seem to want to take the time to find out what the true problem is, when a patient comes in, complaining about pain in their teeth. I notice that many times they'll do a procedure a patient requests, even if that's not the procedure needed to solve the problem. People should be able to walk into a dentist's office, and the dentist be able to find, or at least TRY to find out, why the person is in pain. Why/how can a doctor just let a patient leave in pain, no help given to them? This has happened to me numerous times. I notice that many dentists just don't care enough to try and really help a patient. Maybe they can't do it; time would be wasted trying to find out what is wrong. You should get a refund, from the dentist who did just half a root canal, at the very least. I doubt you'll be able to, unless you file a complaint. People are pretty powerless, when it comes to fighting "the system" the way dentists operate. Don't get me wrong: most dentists are very honorable...but there is a problem with people who might have more unusual dental problems. I hope you'll be able to get over this, Emi106. I wish you all the best, in the future...Debbie
Thanks so much Debbie for the reply. Means alot. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. NO ONE should go through all this pain and $ for nothing.
We pay good $ to get good work done. But often times Dr's just walks away.
I know now Root canals are not 100% from what I went through. I learned it the hard way but at least now I know.
I just need to find a good dentist that understands what I went through so he can do my other work.
Thanks again and good luck!
Emi
Every person I know that has had a root canal ended up losing the same tooth in the long run, including myself. I think its all just a money racket sometimes. My 2 cents. Peace and Love....Latro
Thanks for the reply. I agree!
No matter how long you had the Root canal, It's either a re treat later on or having it pulled. And who pays for all this US!
