PLEASE HELP : Unexplained Gum Problems - Dental Health Message Board

okay..this is going to sound like a weird question...but could a water supply have some sort of influence on your dental health?
let me elaborate:

when i am at home in northern virginia...i do not have ANY gum problems AT ALL....

But when i am at school, here in Farmville, va (southwest region)...for some reason...my gums bleed...(most when im brushing, but sometimes randomly) and i can feel my gums receeding...

but once i go home...these symptoms go away again...can anyone help me? i brush regularly, floss regularly...and use mouthwash...so i dont think it's anything im doing differently...

what else can i do???

water supplies can definitely have that effect. or u can be under more stress at school and that can also effect ur gums. i dont know how to go about testing tap water but i m sure u could get that info from ur local water company to find out what they put in it. i know some have small amounts of chlorine and some even use flouride which shd benefit most teeth. if its a plm buy a water jug with a tap and keep it in ur fridge and buy water at a water station for .25 a gallon. that would tell u if its the local water quickly.
