Post ever had tooth pulled?

To any one that has had a tooth pulled. Is there a healing waiting period before you can get a bridge or parcial? If so how long? I was thinking maybe the gums shrink some and there might be a healing time to wait so the new fake tooth would fit right???

Hi -

I had 8 teeth pulled a few weeks ago - 4 front upper and 4 front lower. I walked out of the dentist wearing an interim partial, which is not only not noticable, but looks a heck of a lot better than what I had. I will have the Interim until my gums heal - a few months or so

interim partcial is only temporary? What do you get next if it is temporary? Wow 8 teeth at once, I can't imagine.

You know what - of all eight extractions, I dont think that took more than 10 minutes of the total two hours in the chair. It was done after the gum work which was consisted of Root Planing and scaling of all four quandrants. I think the only thing that was difficult was the initial shots - but then I never liked needles.

In about 30 days my gums should heal (they dont hurt now, but they are going through a healing stage. After they heal, the dentist will sit down with me and discuss my options - which will be permanent bridge, partials, implants. Right now he doesnt want to discuss anything until he sees how it looks, but on the last visit he said things are looking great. The interim partial is really for cosmetic purposes. Looking at myself, I cannot even tell they are not my real teeth.
