I totally agree with the above posts. I changed dentists two years ago for the above problem. The dentist I went to had such poor org. skills, it took over 2 months to get into see him if there was a problem.
I'll tell you what happned to me. My right top wisdom tooth had broked off was causing pain and was cutting my cheek, I'd had a good relationship with this dentist so far so I called the office. I told his office staff that my wisdom tooth had broke off and was cutting my cheek and causing lots of pain, and needs to be pulled. Well they said I needed a crown on the tooth(I think not) and I continued to tell them that it was a wisdom tooth, she didn't believe me and scheduled me an appointment for two months later. I didn't go,and didn't call them to cancel it either.
Any how, I called another dentist the same day, mind you I had never seen this dentist before, and he got me in two days later. He looked at the tooth, and sent me to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon got me in 4 days later and pulled the tooth. I've been with my new dentist for 2 years and am really happy with him.
After talking to different people who went to my previous dentist, they had similiar problems. Several people I know, no longer go to dentist I was telling you about.
My point is that, if can't get into see this dentist, go to a different one. There are plenty of good dentists out there that will listen to you and help you with your pain. Good luck and keep us posted
