Veneer fell off! - Dental Health Message Board

I went in today to have my top front tooth prepped for a porcelain veneer. My dentist put a temporary one on and it just fell off, 30 minutes after leaving the office. He told me to be careful biting into things as this temporary one won't be very strong but I was only eating a grilled cheese sandwhich and not biting directly with that front tooth. My tooth looks horrible and I'm going back to his office in a couple of hours but I'm afraid this will happen again! I can't have this happening at work or while I'm out with friends. It looks HORRIBLE!!! Has anyone had this happen? It will be 2 weeks before my permanent veneer is ready and I'll be in constant fear of this happening again.

It's not a veneer that fell off, it's just the temporary composite stuff they cover the teeth with till your veneers are ready. I'm going through this for the second time in my life and I'm just happy to HAVE the temporaries this time, much less painful. I know they are ugly and a pain in the butt, but you'll be so happy once you get your veneers put on!!! My temps haven't popped off, but the dentist did tell me that the temps come off easily and to just come in if that happens. You'll be fine, just smile with your mouth shut and be really careful until you get your veneers put on. You will be THRILLED with the final results and it will make this horrible two weeks well worth it!
