I had my bottom wisdom teeth pulled when I was 18 and just recently had my top ones pulled at 34. I was dreading having to have them pulled because I had a really hard time with the bottom ones. I was amazed at the ease and lack of discomfort that I had with the top ones! I don't know if you've had your bottom ones pulled yet or not, but I think the top ones are way easier and less painful. Good luck to you

You should have your dentist refer you to an oral surgeon. Oral surgeons do wisdom teeth extractions in their offices. They usually do start an IV there and put you to sleep for the procedure while in the dental chair.

The bottom wisdom teeth are more difficult to remove due the root/bone involvement. Top ones typically are much easier to remove.

It is wise...hence the pun....to have wisdom teeth removed early on to save problems later on down the road.

I am 54, and my wisdom teeth seemed to extend out then back in at various times in my life, then stayed still. I never allowed them to be pulled, and never will. No one in my family has ever had them pulled, though a step son and his wife did on the advice of a dentist.

Listen, perhaps you really need yours pulled, but the so-called wisdom that they are un needed is ridiculous. many people now have abcesses and caved in jaws due to having them pulled. Get all the facts. Are they diseased? If not, then maybe you need to give them some time to settle down and take pain killers awhile. Teeth that are growing are painful///even for babies! It is normal, most times.

Hey,
I just got my wisdom teeth pulled out four days ago and i didn't have any trouble. the next few days are RATHER uncomfortable and frustrating tho. it's hard to eat, and you can't really open your mouth very well. they put you on some really good meds tho that make you forget about it pretty quick. let me see, i got them out friday, and most of the swelling is gone now, i think all of it will be gone by tomorrow (fingers crossed!!) oh, yeah, and keep your ice packs on, they're very comforting.....i grew pretty attatched to mine the doctor stitched me up afterwards so i don't have any holes in my gums or anything like that. you get to eat all the ice cream and jell-o you want also! the doctor said i woke up after surgery laughing.... good luck and don't stress too hard about it, just make sure you take it easy afterwards.
