WISDOM TEETH ANYONE? - Dental Health Message Board

Hi all, i am 22 and my wisdom teeth are coming through... my top right one is causing me alot of pain, all down my right hand of my face is all hot and swollen, and itchy, my head on my right hand side is tender and my ear on that side... dentist said, either wait for a while and go to him and see if he can take it out.. or go for sergery in hospital.. BUT i hate being put to sleep... any one else ever suffered with facial pain..? thankyou

Well, I didn't have pain, but I had surgery for my lower wisdom teeth when I was 25.The anasthesia was fine and I recovered very well. I had to have the surgery - no choice -becuase the wisdom teeth were impacted near the nerve which ran down my neck.It was a touchy thing post surgery, but I followed the rules to a tee and was fine.Something that intense, though, you may try to reconsider haveing general anasthsia, but I know how you feel.

The best part about being put to sleep is that they inject you, you fall asleep and when you wake upp you're like, wow, it's over ?It seems to happen so quick. Good luck with whatever you decide !

sorry to take over...

i'm desperate to know about side affects with it being so close to your nerve?

my oral surgeon scared me greatly today about losing feeling in my face and the like...please if you can help me with some advice...
