Ok, I have this problem in 2 of my teeth on the bottom set of teeth. It happens in the same place in 2 teeth. The 2 teeth are the ones on the outside of my cannines. It looks almost as if from my gum upwards is eroding away a canal in the middle of these 2 teeth. Near the gums on these 2 teeth they bleed and are tender when i brush them. ONLY these 2 teeth. Its quite strange. I have a dentist appointment in 2 weeks.

The thing is, I brush 2 times a day and swish with listerine!!!!

I was told by a friend that I may need to have 2 root canals to have the teeth built up.

Has anyone heard of my problem and what should I expect at the dentist?

Sounds like you are brushing too hard over the area, which many people do because of the curve of the arch near the canines. I think you have gum recession and need to have it evaluated by a dentist or a periodontist - periodontists specialize in receding or eroding gums. Believe it or not you can harm your teeth and gums if you brush too hard or incorrectly. You can learn the best technique to brush and floss at your dental office. Good luck.

well your right, i was dianosed with a rare gum recession disease. That coupled with my hard brushing has eccaserbated the problem.
I now have to get 4 teeth bonded and my gums have to be replaced by a skin graft.

The dentist says that this is rare for someone my age (19). But that there is nothing i really could have done to avoid this disease. He says some people are just genitically predisposed to have this happen.

ouch...

Well now you know how to care for your teeth and because you learned at such a young age, you will be able to keep your teeth for the rest of your life. Right? Good luck.
