I am actually writing for my son's girlfriend. She came to me showing me a blister in her mouth around the gum line. Her jaw is swollen really bad. She went to the dentist and he told her to see an oral surgeon. This is not an abcess. She is terrified on what this could be. He put her on penicillan, and she had a bad reaction which required me to take her to the E.R.
Has anyone had this problem?
I was told a tooth with an abscess couldn't be pulled unless you had been on antibiotics at least 4 days. I am suprised they would do that so fast without exploring other options first. I wish her luck! Abscesses aren't fun.
