Post Curled roots, extraction went bad, now more pains

Has anyone had this experience, where the roots were surled up so bad it took 2&1/2 HRS. to get it out?

And then, the neighboring tooth - one that never hurt at all before - developed a very sensitive area on one side of the tooth [facing the extraction site].
Now that tooth may have to be pulled because it won't stop hurting, and thats okay because I now believe dentures are much safer for our health than saving questionalbe teeth.

I am going through the exact situation. I had 2 wisdom teeth (top & bottom) pulled on the right side and the bottom tooth took forever to come out. Then the molar beside developed the same symptoms that you described. I have since went and had that tooth pulled and the gums where it was is stil giving me problems. It is constantly sore--almost feels like a new tooth is trying to break through the gums. Went to the Dentist again this morning and he told me it was "just" the bone in my jaw and the gums are tryingto heal over it. If it does not improve with 2-3 weeks, I will have to see a specialist and have it surgically removed. What a bummer....
