Hi Traumatized,

I went to see my oral surgeon this afternoon. I had dry socket treatment pack for a week and I didn't like the taste. The Oral Surgeon said that my hole hasn't heal that he wanted to see. He gave me different pack to try for 3 weeks if it healing. If it not healing in 3 weeks, he wants me to come back.

He doesn't know what he can do next since he debrite me already. Do you know what he can do next?

If I feel this pain from this medcine pack, do you think it is working or not? Do you think it might be worst to feel the pain if it not working? I am feeling the pain now with this new pack. I told them I will give my hole to try to heal.

If it has not healed in spite of treatment for 3 wks then you should get a 2nd opinion

What would be my 2nd opinion? I went through 2 quick Surgeries and can't figure out why it not healing. I still have a big hole from last surgery. It was during christmas week.

I am trying to ask few questions with other dentist or oral surgeon what their advice if it doesn't heal end of Jan.

Take all your meds. Try 600mg. of Ibuprofen, to relieve the inflammation. Dry socket takes time to heal. Don't be overly active. Your mouth needs to stay very clean. Rinse with warm salt water. If you smoke, that might be aggravating the situation. Ice the side of your jaw that hurts. Rest. If it doesn't start to heal, don't hesitate to go back to see your doctor. Only have an oral surgeon or periodontist care for it at this point.

I don't smoke. I work a lot of hours with two jobs by moving a lot. I eat only the left side to keep away the foods on the right side. I have been looking out to see if there any improvement, but nothing yet.

What does the periodontist care do? The oral surgeon wants me to be back in 3 weeks if I don't see any healing. I will go back to see my oral surgeon end of Jan. I don't know what my oral surgeon can do next unless he can x-ray or give me some test from my mouth.

I think it will be a good idea, what do you think?
