Has anyone ever had this

The tooth behind my top left k-9 is cracked right down the middle, and one side is loose. I have had a problem with this tooth for quite some time, but never had the money or time to take care of it. It started about 3 years ago with a cavity, and it just ate its way on down, then I needed a root canal. So still, I let it go because I dont have the money to get it fixed. Now, well this past friday, I was chewing gum and the thing split right down the middle. It doesnt hurt, but at times, its sensitive. The one half is very loose and I wonder if I were to pull it would it effect me in any way or become infected? What can I do I do have insurance, but paying the remainder is going to be a problem. I dont know what to do. I just want to know has anyone ever had this problem, and what was the outcome? I feel that I will need to have it extracted, and if that is the case I do want an implant.

Re: Has anyone ever had this

Please go see your dentist. You never know, maybe you can save that tooth. Your dentist could maybe be able to put a filling to fill the crack, or do a root canal if there is something wrong with the root... If your dentist can save that tooth, it will be far less expensive than having it extracted and have an implant which would cost a lot more.

Good luck and please go see your dentist...there are always ways to finance your dental needs...I know that my dental office offers financial help if needed so ask yours about this.
