Anesthetic & Taste Buds
Last night I got a filling on the bottom right side of my mouth. I got an anesthetic shot (of what exactly, I can't say). This morning I can't taste anything on the right side of my tongue.
It's not numb; I can feel texture and temperature just fine. But I can't taste anything - and let me tell you, it's unpleasant to eat tasteless cheese! If I chew on my left side I can taste just fine.
I've called the dentist and am waiting to hear back from her. Has anyone ever heard of this before? Did she hit some odd "taste bud nerve" with the anesthetic? Will it go away? Help!
