Unhappy Problems with stitches after Wisdom teeth removal

I recently had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. and all was fine. the pain receded and the swelling was going down. but then the swelling flared up again in my lower right area (where a wisdom tooth was removed) and I used a flashlight and a mirror to see what was up, and the stich used to close the gum is loose. there are just two ends sticking out of the gum. it isn't tied together anymore. besides the swelling there is some pain that's come back. I've been rinsing with salt water, but I wonder how serious this is. should I be concerned? and what else can I do to help this situation? Thank you.

Re: Problems with stitches after Wisdom teeth removal

I would not be worried about it most of the time the knot is in the hole where you can not see it.I just had 15 extraction with 6 stitches. If they are cat gut they will fall out on thier own in about a week and a half. But if you want to ease your mind call your dentist.I am sure they wont mind answering your questions.
