I currently don't have dental insurance so I plan to signup for CignaPlus Savings, a dental discount program. My regular dentist accepts both Cigna and Aetna. He gave me the out-of-pocket price to handle what I needed (cleaning, X-ray and two fillings). I told him I would think about it and get back to him.
So I wanted to find out his negotiated rates under CignaPlus. Perhaps it'd be better if I subscribed to this program. Unfortunately, the CignaPlus representative said I needed a three-digit procedure code to find out the exact cost. Apparently, they don't even have the code for a basic adult cleaning.
I google'd around and found some ADA procedure codes. But they seem to be five digits long. Does anyone know if Cigna has a separate set of codes? I would ask my dentist, but I don't want to make it seem that I'm eluding his offer. He'd surely ask why I would want this technical info.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks.
