Regarding abscessed tooth

I really feel stupid for putting it off for this long, but I think I may have a abscessed tooth or at least on leading to it. It doesnt hurt, only if i chew something on it like food or whatever, I did get a tooth ache like 6 months ago but it has not come back. It doesnt hurt if i clinch my teeth, and i dont see any swelling or infection. So i was wondering how much does root canals often cost for a molar, I live in mississauga, ontario, canada. Will it be very painful, i havent been to the dentist in a while (yeah i am an idiot), when they are performing it?

Re: Regarding abscessed tooth

It's best to go the dentist and have an exam and x-ray done to determine what is going on with that tooth. There's a possibility that you may just have a cavity in the tooth and not an abcess.

Re: Regarding abscessed tooth

like most people will tell you, you need to get to the dentist and have it looked at. I have had 3 root canals and it really just depends on who your dentist is on the amount of pain. It's never too bad, but my most recent one was done with lasers instead of a drill. It was a lot better than the two I had done with drills. After all of my root canals, it took me most of the rest of the day to recover. I suggest taking the whole day off work if you can, and just plan to take it easy that day and rest if you can. Overall, I can say that a root canal isn't as bad as it would seem. It's no day at the park, it's best to just get it over with. The sooner the better and probably less painful. Good Luck!
