My filling fell out a week ago and I have to wait until July 1st for my new insurance to kick in- that's 3 weeks away. I went to the dentist and got a temporary filling but it fell out too. I got that stuff from the drugstore but it falls out right away all the time as well. The tooth doesn't hurt but stuff gets stuck in there all the time. I'm just concerned that I could be making things worse somehow... can I wait the 3 weeks or do I have to rob a bank to pay for a filling or crown sooner?
Stay away from all sugary drinks! Bacteria in your mouth turns sugar to acid which will eat the inside of your tooth faster than the hard enamel outside.
If you can take a Q-tip and dry the inside of the tooth really good, place the temporary filling material in and press it in hard. Gently bite down so you make a dent for your opposing tooth to fit it.
Wish for the best till July 1st! I think you'll be OK
