lower jaw moved forward, how can i get it fixed - Dental Health Message Board

When I was 17 my teeth shifted on the right side. At 18, my lower jaw slightly moved forward. I want to get it fixed but there's no way that I want to wear braces--I'm a grown woman. I'd love to wear invisalign but I heard it's rarely used in most cases. So, what are my options? Surgery? Or is there some other way like a device to move my jaw back in place? My jaw hasn't moved that much, but it just annoys me.

Sorry but orthodontics must be used before jaw surgery can take place. The teeth have to be in perfect alignment before the jaw surgery can take place. My daughter had braces then jaw surgery. Her smile is perfect and her looks amazing. She looks like she could be a model.

Braces have come a long way today. No one looks at adults funny for having braces. Plus the newer ones barely show. Don't let getting braces affect your decision not to have your work done just because your an adult.

Hey, I'm in my 50's and wore braces for 16 months. It's not a big deal these days. Good luck.
