Root canal tooth has black line
Hi

I had a root canal done 10 years ago and I am not sure if there is a post
in the tooth but there is a black line from the tooth to the root can that
be the root is filled or would that be a post ....curious if and when this needs
to be changed if the post can be changed also ....

I see the crown is turning black because it is getting old....just curious about the root line?

Hi I am not to sure I understand your query, but I have never heard of a post in a tooth with a root canal.

I can say having some myself, they do fill the tooth right down to the root, and maybe the black line is the metal filling showing through your tooth!

Does that answer your question?

yes thank you, they fill the root with filling and I can see it through the gum ? I thought it was mabe a post ....thank you
