gum sore after filling please help!

I had an old filling replaced last week, and since then I have developed a sore on the gum behind the tooth (it was my farthest back molar). The gum is swollen and red and my lip is swollen. My jaw is aching, it hurts when I swallow, and it is really uncomfortable. I am going back to the dentist but in the meantime I am worried that it may be infected, and if so could cause more problems. I have been rinsing with saltwater like crazy. Anyone ever experience this or have any idea what the sore is? I am in so much pain, it's horrible!

Hi, did the dentist put that metal "thing" around your tooth, to isolate it? I know when a dentist I've gone to has done that, it really hurt my gums and took a week or so to heal. Keep on rinsing with saltwater, that should help!
Good luck!
