Question?

I I'm new to dental but a regular to high blood pressure.
My question is for anyone who needs dental work and also has hard to control HBP. I have an infected tooth that needs to be removed but I can't find a dentist who will treat me unless my BP is within a normal range. My blood pressure goes into orbit whenever I go near a doctor of any kind. Don't know what to do next. My primary care doc gave me a script for an antibotic and that helped for about 2 weeks now the pain is back and no dentist in this area (one of the largest cities in USA) will touch me.
Any info from anyone appreciated.

Re: Question?

Your primary care dr would be the best person to help you with this problem. Are you on pressure meds? Perhaps your dr can prescribe valium or xanax or some other sedative that will keep you calm when you go to the dentist.
You should discuss this with your dr. And don't wait. An infection can quickly become a serious problem Good luck.

Re: Question?

Maybe you could see an Oral Surgeon. They can give you a lil something to put you out for the extraction if it's nerves that shoot your BP through the roof.

The last post is a great option too! And she's right, you do NOT want to put getting the tooth out off. The more it decays, the harder it is to get it out.

Best of luck to you
