Unhappy part of tooth broke off around filling!
Hi all,
A few week's ago i had a deep filling in one of my back molars, yesterday whilst eating part of the shell broke off around the filling. Im just wondering if this tooth an be saved or will i need it extracted...any advise wil be appreciated

Hi there,
I think all you will need is a crown, to protect the tooth and prevent further chipping and cracking. I'd get to the dentist soon! Good luck.

I had this happen about a year ago with an old filling in one of my back molars. But yes, get to the dentist pronto. In my case, the tooth was saved, had a porcelain crown put on--which of course, my lousy dental insurance wouldn't pay for, but what can you do? It was a 2-visit ordeal unfortunately.
