2 uppers, erupted removed, ? about food

I had my 2 upper wisdom teeth taken out yesterday morning. They had erupted already, and so were not impacted.

The only instructions I got was to not spit, suck through a straw, and to eat soft foods etc for 24 hours. I have had no signs of discolouration, and very minimal swelling on the left side and very minimal pain as well.

My question is, when would it be ok to start eating normal foods such as spaghetti (with caution of course!)? I had chicken noodle soup today with no problems with the egg noodles in it. My fiancee has heard of people who were able to eat normally the next day, but I want to hear from anyone who has personally done this.

Thanks!

Re: 2 uppers, erupted removed, ? about food

Spaghetti is fine to eat. Any pasta dishes really. The main foods and snacks that you don't want to consume right now, are anything that is very sticky, (caremel, gum,..) or crunchy, (nuts, hard pretzels, raw veggies,...). Give it a few more days yet before you consume any of these types of foods. Other than that, you can eat pretty much anything you want.

Since it was your upper wisdom teeth that were extracted, you are less likely to develop a dry socket, but it can still happen. The teeth were erupted, which made the extractions a little easier, but you still had surgery. Just be careful when you brush and rinse and avoid the sticky and crunchy foods for a few days.
