Tooth Extraction

I had my tooth extracted about 55 hours ago, and I had gotten a denture made up at the same time. Ive followed pretty much all the instructions that I've been given, no smoking, drinking, eating hard foods for 24-48hours. I followed all of this, and now I seem to have a white/grey-ish part on my gum (where the tooth was removed from) - is this normal? or am I experiencing a dry socket?

Note: I have no pain whatsoever.

Re: Tooth Extraction

I just had my tooth pulled a few days ago - went back to the dentist because I had the same whitish looking stuff where the tooth came from. I was told it is a "scrab" type substance that forms to protect the area and is totally normal.

I was looking through this forum for other people who had their tooth (teeth) pulled to see what else I might learn. I know it's been a few days since you posted but I figured I'd tell you what my dentist told me.
