Wisdom Teeth 6 Months Ago - Severe Pain Persists
I'm posting here for help because I could find any with the professionals I visit with. I got my wisdom teeth out in December 2005 and during the healing process I had only one problem. A piece of popcorn got stuck in my lower right extraction zone. I went to the surgeon's office to have it flushed out and the doctor said it wont be a problem, either it will get flushed out with the syringe or it will get flushed out on its own in time.
Months after the surgery I still had this persistent soreness and swelling in that corner of my mouth. Dental flossing in that area always came out very thick and goey and so painful after flossing. On my final checkup with the surgeon he told me that it's a little red back there and a visit with my normal dentist having them clean the area should solve the problem.
A few months after that, in and around May I was at the dentist and I requested them to take extra care in cleaning that area extra-well for me, and also to look at it and the hygenist as well as dentist said there was nothing wrong.
To this day when I floss that area it's still the same symptoms as above - very painful afterwards! So painful you dont even want to floss. Does anyone have any ideas?
