is brushing your teeth too much bad?

I recently started brushing my teeth 5-6 times a day due to dry mouth and was wondering if this could be bad for my teeth? Mainly because Biotene dry mouth toothpaste doesn't cover all the things Total tooth paste does, so i usually use total in the morning/night and biotene every time i start to feel my dry mouth coming up/after every meal

Make sure you are being gentle on the gums. Never brush so hard you make them bleed or feel odd. If you wear away the gums they will never come back.

Always use a soft brush...A soft brush will clean much better than a hard or medium one because some of the bristles will bend at heights of contour and others will remain straight reaching down into the sulcus that surrounds the teeth. It is in this sulcus that Periodontal disease begins when plaque (made of germs) is allowed to accumulate here. The point is to always aim to remove the plaque from the sulcus around each tooth.

Chew biotene gum that helps with a dry mouth too. With a dry mouth it is very important to rinse your mouth well as toothpaste can dry making a white coating inside the mouth that is rather nasty.

Why not use the biotene saliva replacement gel instead?
