Weird Question About Gums Around Wisdom Teeth - Dental Health Message Board

Okay, I had all of my wisdom teeth out on Wed. of this week. The procedure went great (better than I expected) because I didn't have to have any "surgery" done; that is, the teeth pulled right out and I didn't need stitches. Well, I'm okay and the pain is not too bad.
This is my weird question. My gums are swollen (which I know is to be expected), and even though I'm brushing normally, I have this white film (?) all over my gums that feels rough when I put my tongue on it. It's all over both sides of top and bottom gums. If I scrape it off, it looks like plaque. Is this a normal occurence?

It happens soon after I brush my teeth, and I am making sure that I brush my gums (though not around my extraction sites). I was just wondering what this might be, or if I should worry about it.

without actually looking in your mouth it would be impossible to answer your question. If it has you very concerned, visit your dentist. If not, give it a month or so and see what happens. At this point being pain free is the important factor.
