Hi, I'm due to pick up my "new teeth" tomorrow and I'm really dreading it. I'm having one part denture with about two teeth on at the top and both sides at the bottom. I have my own middle bottom teeth so the teeth are joined together with a metal bar which fits somehow behind my own bottom teeth (if that makes sense to you) I had one fitting last week for a few minutes and they made me want to gag straight away so the dentist did something to make them fit lower. I only had them in for a couple of minutes so impossible to know how they really felt but I know I could barely speak properly and they felt like a load of plastic (which of course they are!) How long does it take for people to get used to having these in their mouths?? I'm worried because I suffer from depression and low self-esteem and don't want them to plunge me lower. I won't want to say anything to my husband as I wanted my teeth out for a long time and it cost loads. Thank you.
