receding gums from electric toothbrush?

Has anyone else had their gums recede from using an electric toothbrush? I loved using the electric because it really removed stains well but I had to stop because of the recession. I use the Oral B toothbrush.

Re: receding gums from electric toothbrush?

it sounds like you are using too much force with the toothbrush if it's causing your gums to recede, you may want to back off how hard you brush them.

Are you using a soft bristle electric toothbrush? i'm told that helps a lot. be careful, you don't want to have the gum graft surgery for your gums. i just had it done. not fun at all!
