Dentist or Denturist? - Dental Health Message Board

Howdy all. Had a bunch of top teeth pulled a year and a half ago and am just now ready to go ahead and get a partial denture. (the reasons for the delay don't really matter)

Anyway, I'm in a new city, and I wonder if I'd be better served by a dentist, or a denturist...there seems to be a lot of both here.

Is there a way of telling how reputable someone is? I've got a bit of money now, so I don't have to go too cheap, but cost is still a factor. I just don't want to end up going to the wrong guy.

Hi! I went to a denturist. I really don't know if they are any better or not, but I have had absolutely no problems with mine at all. I kind of think a denturist would be better because that is all they deal with, but I know there are a lot of good dentist out there doing them too.

If you have access to a denturist- I would go that route, cut out the middle man- get the person who is actually making your denture to work on you. Almost all dentists send impressions to a lab and then get a finished product back.
