how long do i have to wait to eat after a filling?

I got a filling today a white one.They didnt tell me how long I have to wait before I can eat if I do have to wait?one of my friends told me 3 hours but im not sure if thats right or not?Does anyone know?thanks

Generally, it's once the numbness wears off, assuming you got shots with it. I had a small filling done without shots once (not recommended) but was told I could eat immediately afterwards since I didn't have any numbness then.

thanks for the info yeah i did get the shots to make me numb so i guess ill have to wait a few hours i still cant feel anything.

Depends what kind of filling, and how numb you are. If its a compostie filling, you can eat right away, as long as you're not too numb, a silver fill you shoud wait 2 hours, and then eat soft foods only for 24 hours.
