Re: any had teeth that rotted down to the gum line?

Thank goodness I have never had this problem. But I must ask why you are afraid of dentists? Did you have a bad experience with one in the past? Also when was the last time you saw a dentist for a check up? I have had dental problems in the past, but none due to not seeing my dentist. Therefore to keep my teeth in the best shape I can I do see a Periodontist every three months. My sugestion to you would be get yourself to a good dentist as soon as possible -- and don't be afraid. Dentists don't bite and if they have to do any work that involves any pain you are given something for it so you don't feel a thing.

Re: any had teeth that rotted down to the gum line?

Today there is no need to fear the dentist. Pain free dentistry is common practice now. If your fear is that great find a dentist that offers sedation for all of your appointments....you will not even remember you were there....I call it the nap pill....lol.

If your teeth and gums are not healthy, well your not healthy.....and at the end of the day...that is all we truly have in life, our health.

With a great dentist you could turn your mouth into a smile and a set of veneers or dentures that will make you feel like a million dollars...and if money is an issue, many dentist's now offer affordable payment plans.

Yep i had 10 of them and just had them all pulled last month and was mostly only roots left. so she numbed me up and pulled them like it was a splinter in my finger was fast and easy.i was amazed. no swelling no pain ,well little soreness maybe 2 days later nothing bad, but was given penicillin to take for 5 days cuz of the infected teeth pulled.

Re: any had teeth that rotted down to the gum line?

Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I have 2 right now. I don't have the money to pay for them to be pulled right at the moment, so I am trying to get by with it. It hurts quite a bit of the time when I try to eat, but . . . MONEY!!!
Even though Dentist's DO have Payment Plans and/or Loans available, I don't qualify because my credit is HORRID!!! Due to a previous divorce 4 1/2 years ago. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!
Now, ALL my medical bills are catching up with me, and I can't pay them all, and slowly they are ALL starting to put them on my credit report. I keep up and pay for that "Free Credit Report" thing that is ALWAYS advertised here online and on TV. That IS one of the BEST things I have ever spent money on! I get notified if there are ANY new things put on my report, etc . . .
So, here I am, waiting to save enough money to go get it pulled. It is on the top, one of the Dracula Fangs, as "I" call it!!!
I have been on Antibiotics for forever these la
st few months because of cysts of have gotten on my body, but I 'just' finished my last round, and now in a few more days, they will be completely be out of my system. No problem. I 'can' go see my Family Doc, and he can prescribe antibiotics if need be. At least that will buy me more time???
I have gotten WAY behind in my bills because right before Xmas, our front and rear brakes BOTH went out, HUGE REPAIR BILL!!! THEN, I had 2 other teeth that had to be pulled because they broke down to the gumline, and the Oral Surgeon charged me the FULL AMOUNT!!!!!!! THEY REFUSED TO BILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY, STATING WHEN PAYMENT IS RECEIVED, THEY WILL REFUND WHAT IS OWED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was $200!!!!!!
Left us with NO MONEY for gifts for our children for Xmas.
Being divorced, when the kids DID get here for Xmas, they threw a FIT when they DID get here, about spending the night, spending several days with me, etc. So, my husband and I (I am remarried to an ANGEL!!!!!), we took the gifts we 'did' get for them, to a Homeless shelter, and got to pass out AND give our gifts to a family there.
You know what?? That was the BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT I HAVE EVER GIVEN OR RECEIVED!!!!! MY HUSBAND AND I THANKED GOD THAT WE WERE ABLE TO DO THAT!! WHAT A BLESSING!!!! We were crying on the way home!
You are ALL wondering what my kids thought about that, huh?? Well, they couldn't BELIEVE we did what we did!!! Hey, if they couldn't find the time to visit me at ANY TIME OVER THE ENTIRE HOLIDAYS, THEN WHAT GOOD ARE PRESENTS FOR WHEN OTHER PEOPLE COULD REALLY USE THEM????
You know what else? Here it is the 1st of March today. They STILL can't believe it!!! They keep thinking I am going to pull the presents out. Ha, ha!! The joke is on them!! There are NONE!!!
I honestly could NOT sit here, knowing HOW HARD I TRIED TO FIND MONEY TO PURCHASE GIFTS FOR THEM, BY "NOT" PAYING UTILITIES, ETC., THAT (MANY OF YOU MAY "NOT" UNDERSTAND THIS, BUT . . . ) THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD SIT HERE AT HOME 'SEEING' THOSE GIFTS, OR EVEN KNOWING THEY WERE IN THE HOUSE EVEN, THAT I "HAD" TO GET RID OF THEM!!
It is a VERY hard thing to explain, but I divorced, in my opinion, a monster. ALL 3 of us, meaning myself and my 2 children, are IN COUNSELING!!! we NEED it!!!
Their Dad has them brainwashed I am "scum" because I live in a "Manufactured House" in a "PARK"!!! I am 'Trailer Trash'!!! I am SCUM, etc.
So, I KNEW Xmas would NEVER happen with them. I cried my EYES OUT!!!! I WAS SO SURPRISED THEY COULD "NOT" FIND IT IN THEIR HEARTS TO "EVEN" SPEND A FEW 'HOURS' WITH ME??????????????????????
They are 14 and 9. I have a disease that requires my using a wheelchair, which they have NEVER come to terms with.
ANYWAY . . . WAIT TILL THEY SEE A MISSING FRONT TOOTH!!!! HA, HA HA!!! I AM SORRY, BUT I HAVE TO LAUGH!!!! THEIR DAD WILL HAVE A FIELD DAY WITH THAT ONE!!!! I GUESS I WILL REALLY BE CONSIDERED TRASH THEN!!!!
So, in order to buy Xmas presents for my kids, I did not pay some utilities, and I did NOT buy a lot AT ALL! Their Dad bought them these $300 electronic things??? Sorry I can't compete. . . , NOR DO I WANT TO!!!!
So, I KNEW they thought their gifts here would suck. bUT . . . NOW it has taken 3 months to pay off my balances, and I STILL OWE, because if you miss "1" payment, you are kicked OFF the Budget Plans. Really sucks. Oh well. I keep trying!!! All I can do!!!
But. . . here I sit with 2 REALLY bad teeth, and I have to suffer with them, ALL because of Xmas. I will NEVER do what I did EVER again!!! Rob Peter to Pay Paul!! No WAY is it worth it!! I learned MY lesson!!!!
Well, good luck with YOUR teeth!! It DOESN'T hurt!! Honestly, you will feel SO much BETTER AFTER you have the work done than what you feel like NOW!! I PROMISE YOU!!
I don't have but 17 teeth left now. Unfortunately, I have NO molars that meet, which make it REALLY HARD to EAT!!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK!
Spasm Woman!
