Question about eye teeth - Dental Health Message Board

I may have to have one of my eye teeth removed. It is on the top. I heard a lot of horror storys about getting these teeth pulled. Is it true that if you get one of your eye teeth removed that it hurts so bad that you might jump out of your chair? I also heard that it could break you nose or make it bleed!!!! Can someone who has had an eye tooth removed tell me their experience with it. Or anyone that knows someone who has had one of these tooth removed.

A couple of months ago I was at work - when all of a sudden my top left eye tooth just fell out! All that remained was at my gum. I was scared! I went to the dentist that afternoon. He said my only option would be to pull it out! I have heard a lot of "horror" stories also. So I told him I would come back the next week (had to get my nerve up). So anyway he numbed me up and pulled it out - I was totally shocked! I didn't feel a thing! It bled to a minimum. (I have had several teeth pulled). And to beat it all it didn't even hurt after the numbing went out or even days after that! I looked at it after he pulled it - they do have a longer root! But it was easier for me than any others I have had pulled! He gave me pain medicine for later - but I never had to use them either! So hopefully yours will be the same way! Let me know!
