| Re: Hi, I'm New Here, With Toothaches
Hi, My regular dentist, and also an oral surgeon, both checked my teeth, and they said that the nerves in my teeth all are dead, causing me these horrible toothaches, it's like one right after another since this past December.
Today I went to my regular dentist (to get my top denture adjusted and also to tell him that my remaining bottom toothache pain is getting worse) and he did another test on my 6 remaining bottom teeth, (this cold test, that burns/hurts your tooth like crazy if the tooth is good, but if the nerve is dead than you feel no pain).
Well I didn't feel any pain at all when he did this test, but when he tapped on my teeth, I almost hit the roof. (my toothache pain has been 24/7 since December). My dentist even asked me if I have some kind of medical condition, because he says that it's odd that all of my teeth (all 20) had toothaches all going on at once.
One of my co-workers told me that I should get my heart checked, but I have no insurance. :-(
And now I only have 6 teeth left in my whole entire mouth anyway, so I am going to get them all extracted here soon.
My dentist said that he was going to call up my oral surgeon today(the one who pulled out some of my top teeth 3 weeks ago, and put an immediate top denture on) and give him the Referall. So I am hoping within the next couple of weeks that I can get them extracted, and be done with toothaches forever.
This has really affected my life since December, I don't even want to wake up in the morning, I just want to sleep all day because of the pain.
Even pain med's don't take all of the pain away, and I have been putting orajel on my gums/teeth also and that stops the pain for a couple of minutes, but than the pain comes back full force. :-(
My family is getting tired of me for crying and complaining about my toothaches everyday since December, but if they had chronic toothache pain than they would understand what I am going thru.
My dentist today told me that he wanted me to keep my 2 eye teeth and just extract the rest, he said because having a full bottom denture wouldn't stay on right, and I would have too many problems with it, etc.... well I told him that I don't care, that I would rather be completly toothless than to be having a toothache. I told him that I suffered long enough, and I was literally in tears when I said this to him.
He even had the guts to tell me, to wait it out another week, and think about it, (about keeping the 2 eye teeth) and than let him know next Tuesday (when I see him next for another top denture adjustment)
But I practically yelled at him and told him that I am over 100% sure that I want the rest of my teeth (6 of them) extracted, so than he fineally gave up, and that's when he told me that he would call up my oral surgeon.
I just really wonder if he did!
I will call my oral surgeon's office on Thursday (being tomorrow is the 4th of July) to see.
Anyone else here just kept having toothaches after toothaches, one right after another, and there was no reason for it??
The only other times that I have ever had a toothache was, if I had a deep cavity or under a crown/bridge/cracked tooth got infected, not when my teeth don't look that bad.
