Anyone know what the AVERAGE cost of braces for an adult is today? We are talking not a super involved case - maybe a treatment period of 1.5-2 years. Not invisalign either - traditional braces.

It really does depend on the length and type of treatment you require as well as the orthodontist you select but I'm going to guess about $5000.00.
Thats approximately what I'm paying and it covers my entire treatment including retainer and follow up appointments after the braces come off.
Your best bet is to call around to several orthodontists in your area to book a consultation. Most orthodontists will not charge for this. Then you can compare the treatment options available to you as well as the cost and payment options provided.

your looking around 3600 to 7.000 the time in treatment realy does make a differance , mine was way more for all my TMJ , splints an, expantion an time in headgear

Oh I definitely won't be getting any TMJ splints with this ortho. Been there done that! Didn't help me, infact made me worse. This man is well versed on TMJ but won't be doing splint therapy with me, will rather correct my teeth so they meet right and I have a correct bite.
