Hi everyone, I am new to this message board thing.. so bear with me..
I went to the dentist approximately 2 weeks ago with what I thought was a minor cavity (food was getting stuck in my tooth).. Anyway, the dentist took the xrays etc, and said that it was a big cavity but that the tooth was fixable..
So he drilled, cleaned, and filled it..
After getting home and the shot wore off, my tooth, jaw, and mouth hurt horribly! I called him back, and he readjusted the bite.. a couple days later he had to readjust the bite again. He did inform me that if the tooth continued to hurt that I might need a root canal .. or I could get the tooth pulled.
I went home, and later that night my bottom jaw (where my wisdom tooth would be) began to kill me with pain. I had to take strong pain meds, and still was up half the night. I called the dentist back, went and got a pano xray the next day. He called and told me that now I have a mucus filled cyst in my sinus cavity.. and wants me to come in for a consultation!
So here I am on Saturday afternoon, still in agony with my tooth, and jaw... both top and bottom. I don't know if I need this tooth pulled or what I should do.
I would like to ask, if it is possible that he missed something when he filled this tooth, and can they REFILL a tooth in that case? I don't think that my sinus problem is serious, I have always had sinus issues.. and I really don't think that is what is causing this pain. I didn't even hurt until he started the filling procedure.. I also need to know what can I do to relieve this until I can get back to the dentist, and probably get this tooth pulled?
