An old upper bridge broke that has two teeth involved but one tooth needed extra attention because of possible decay. Went to Endodontist to consult about saving tooth and also to consult about a redo root canal in the troubled tooth. Went back to regular dentist and he said to go and see a Periodontist to prepare for surgery to do a crown lenghtening and did so and as he got into the grinding down of the bone( crown lengthening) and proceeded to the tooth that was to be saved he saw a fracture in it so he extracted it. Needless to say the whole procedure ended up being unecessary because the whole idea was to save the tooth and prepare for a new bridge. Now we have to pay over $1100 for something that didn't work.Plus viral meningitis set in right after the surgery and had to go to emergency room twice in 3 days. We contacted the dentist about this and he said he would get right on this. This all happened two months ago and am still without further help. we contacted the regular dentist yesterday who said he would get right on this and he now says we should have to go back to peridondist to get a re-check of healed tissue? we feel like we are being put off and don't know what to do??
