Smelly tooth

Hi everyone,

I went to the dentist a couple of months back and I was told all was fine. However, I have since developed a bad pain at the back of my mouth at the bottom. The area also smells quite bad and has bled from time to time. I'm 20 years old and am hoping this is due to wisdom teeth breaking through, tho I do worry about it being something else. Any ideas/ advice? I would go straight to the dentist normally but I'm currently at university abroad so I'd rather not rush there and spend a lot of money just to be told that I don't have a problem. I've never had a filling in my life so am baffled as to what the problem is. Thanks for your help!

Re: Smelly tooth

That is certainly not a wisdom tooth symptom. If you're experiencing pain AND bleeding, you can be sure you have a real problem. And if it smells/tastes bad it could be infected.

Re: Smelly tooth

yes defo a infection, and bleeding isnt good either ,i would go to dentist soon.get it checked out, what you could do as your away from home

ring ,your dentist up ,where you go normally when your at home ,and ask him what he thinks it could be? and what to do in mean time? until you can get back to your dentist?
if it is really serious he will tell you must visist a dentist where you are now ,to get it sorted
