Hello all,
I recently had 4 root canals done on 2 teeth in front on top an the identical 2 directly underneath, Well my issue is the 2 top ones keep snapping off, not just comming unglued but breaking what little natural tooth is left a bit at a time since the dentist ground them down to like a little nub with a post just to glue this huge permanent crown to it. To me I dont know how a little surface is supposed to hold a larger surface to it.
The the bottom ones are stable an have not snapped or come off at all.. Why and what is going to happen if the top ones have snapped off enough to the point were there is no original tooth left to glue the permanent crown to?? I have already paid an estimated 1100 dollars per tooth NOW, would this money be lost if they decide to do a root extraction or would they have to refund all that money once they have pulled it???? I already have an upper partial plate to replace 5 teeth lost in a car accident and really dont like wearing it to begin with and only wear it when i go out in public, and would hate to have 2 more added to it. I am real sensative about my teeth an have been working the last year to get them back to having a nice smile to be comfortable with. I would hate to go back to never smiling at and to people (especially to women..lol).

to me a root canal is big bucks but a root extraction is not.
