Excess saliva after tooth extraction

6 weeks ago I had a tooth extraction. I suffered with the dry socket issue and now that it is finally healing my month waters excessively with saliva. I also still taste a salty discharge from the extraction site and it also taste a little like metal. Why is this happening? Should I go back to the dentist?

Hi Michelle!

Just give your dentist a ring and let them know whats going on. They will be abloe to tell you if it is normal and if they need to see you in the office better to go. You dont want to risk getting an infection or something and making things worse. Good luck!
