I had two teeth extracted on New Years Eve. I only have very minimal pain and slight swelling. The teeth they pulled were very rotten to the point that th dentist just split them and pulled them out in chunks. But my quesiton is that when I take a light and look at the extraction site I see the clot but I also see white stuff. There is no foul odor or nasty taste. Could this just be tissue?? This was my first extraction, so this is all new to me. I just want to be sure it's a normal part of the healing and not the start of dry socket.
It is probably just some dead tissue that will slough off on its own as the area fully heals. Rinsing with some warm water and salt periodically might help but other than that I would leave the area alone and not disturb it with brushing. What a way to bring in the New Year!
