| My gums itch and smell
I've had this tooth with a whole lot of decay for a few years. I recently had the decay drilled out and a crown put on top. It's a top front tooth, and all 4 of my top front teeth have recently gotten crowns, but that one was particularly bad.
In that general area my gums often itch, and when I rub them my figure will have this *awful* smell on it from that area. I used to be able to taste it too before she drilled out most of the decay.
It's gotten better since then, but I still get it a lot. I have no idea what to think it is. The teeth have root canals so it can't be that kind of infection. The area doesn't hurt.
I've mentioned it to my dentist but she had no idea what I was talking about. I can't even hope to afford to see a specialist. Only dentists and oral surgeons are covered by my insurance.
