Yes, I have a very small mouth as well. In fact, when given a floride treatment they have to use a child's device! My dentist and his staff makes comments all the time on how small my mouth is. It is given me problems as trying to fit partials has become difficult and a long, tedious process. It sounds like you might have some TMJ going on as you mention soreness, clenching, and grinding. Your dentist can fit with you with a night guard to prevent the clenching and grinding at night which will help with the soreness. I would suggest seeing your dentist, explaining your problem, and see what can be done. Don't get overly scared of what is going on. There are treatments to help. For now, warm compresses on your face will help the soreness and try to relax your jaw as much as possible.
