Severe Inflammation from flossing

Hi,

I have been trying to get back in the habit of flossing everyday and have run into an issue over the last couple of days. My lower gums are really swollen and sore, more than the usual I get when I get back to flossing after having not done it for a while. Its confined to the gums around 8 or so teeth...does this just seem like a reaction to flossing too hard or may I have contracted an infection. Im also about a year over due for a cleaning. Thank you

See your dentist NOW and he can tell you what the problem is.
