m front tooth gum is stinging, and hurts when i bite down on it. it isn't red, not bleeding but stings when i put my tongue one the gum, or any pressure.

i have booked in for an emergency dental appointment, but it's not until next thursday. any ideas what the cause could be? i read that you don't have pain with gum disease, yet i know that doesn't mean anything. is isn't sentsitive, just stings like hell.

any ideas?
