I just got all 4 wisdom teeth removed, all are healing good but the bottom left.
I can see into the cavety where the tooth was removed.
they were removed thursday at noon, so this is day 4.
Im 17, male, smoker
last night i could see a little bit into it. the stitch only had 2/3rds of it closed.
today its open alot more.
its the only one that hurts at all, the only reason im still taking the T3's perscribed. im almost done my diflusional, and i have a day or 2 more amoxicilin.
i washed with salt water lots during day 2 and 3. lightly brushed my teeth..
the pain is minimal, but enough to be a major distraction without the T3's.
so basically im worried that it didn't heal right because its open, and the other one is closed. Do i need to have it stitched back closed, or will it just take longer to heal? and is this how you get a drysocket?
i can provide more info, although its a fairly simple question.
hi ellis...I noticed that no one has answered your question...I can't because I don't know the answer! I've never had a dry socket so I don't know what it feels like...and I've only had dissolvable stitches. I do remember that my surgery site took at least a week to close up.
Have you thought of making a quick call to your dentist and asking him or her? By all means, call your dentist if you have a concern...that is part of their job.
Went in today. he said that it was ok, that the holes wouldn't close up completely anyway. he gave me stronger antibiotics, a mouth wash, and another refill of t3's
i should be fine he said, so thats all i needed was a little peace of mind.
That's great, ellis...I'm glad you went in to see your dentist. Being reassured and 'at peace' is so important to the healing process, I think...I'm sure you'll heal quickly because you're so young
