Sore Teeth - Dental Health Message Board

I've been having a problem with my teeth over the last few days. so here goes....

When i wake up in the morning i feel like ive been squeezing my teeth together all night and the sides and back teeth are all painfull. Only when i bite or try to eat anything though.

I've tried sleeping with my jaw less tight but i cant really control that during sleep.

Its making it really awkward to eat now! I can't go to a dentist at the moment as i don't actually have one!

I have an overbite- quite a bad one, and my jaw is too small for all my teeth so i have quite wonky teeth. Is it quite common to have pain with an overbite?

I can't afford braces right now and although i could get them on the nhs they wont give me them as my teeth arnt wonky enough!

Any help would be awsome!!

you're a clencher!!!! you should wear nightguards! you can research about it. some reputable night guards are sold for 59$.. buy 1 immediately before it's too late.... im having sore teeth too. been going to the dentist. they say my periodontal ligaments (ligaments around your teeth) are sore... also, because of the misalignment of my teeth, the lower and the upper hit each other causing sensitivity. i saw my xray.... one of my teeth is thinning. also check with your dentist about cracked tooth...

this has also been my problem for almost 2 months now. cant afford braces too... and i feel that my teeth will get sore even when i wear 1.it's depressing! hope you'll go to the dentist immediately.

also by theway.. should you get any mouth guards/ night guards to prevent your clenching, make sure it's comfortable... if not, it might do more damage that good. happened to bec. of desparation... good luck. hope this helped

-Hi there. Go to your local sporting goods store and buy teeth guards for really cheap; around $3.00! You have to put them briefly in hot water, then mold them to your teeth. Whatever sporting goods store you have in your area: the store close to me is Big 5. I used these, and they worked really well for me. I would brush them daily with tooth paste; then rinse them, so they always had a fresh smell. I wish you the best! Debbie

Is it only $3? I should've tried that. I went to my dentist and he made me a nightguard which cost $500 and I had to pay $100 which I thought was a decent deal since my insurance covered 80%. I had a sore joint on one side and after wearing it for a week the soreness went away. The nightguard worked for me, but now I don't wear it everyday.
