Infection worse after antibiotics?

Two days ago I went to the doctor for my tooth- it hurt and was raised, and the gum was red and swollen. She gave me amoxycillin for it. The pain and swelling have gone away (which I'm taking as a good sign), but now there's a marble sized lump on my gum (it's making the side of my face look swollen just a tiny bit). I was wondering if it's possible that it's the infection trying to expel itself, or what.

Any ideas?

Re: Infection worse after antibiotics?

Antibiotics will help fight an infection but you still need to address the cause of the infection. Did your dentist say your tooth is the culprit or is it a gum problem or something else?
