over the years in pain and i never stood a chance getting sorted

some years ago ,i had a bridge put in even though the dentist said i had an infection in my cap tooth !!
which in insight now shouldnt be done while an infection is there !!
but at time didnt know that i was only going by the dentist advice

even though ,i said he could only go ahead if he only touches the crown tooth and no other teeth
he said it wouldnt affect any other teeth the one he was going to do
so i agreed he do the bridge

well the outcome after only 6months i was in pain etc and even though i made numerous visits back
sayignits moving the bridge and im in pain .
he kept on dismissing me and wouldnt do nothing

well finally after going down to 5 stone in weight ,and becoming ill with no sleep etc
i had to find another dentist ,after a few weeks trying to find out what was going on ,he decided the bridge would have to come out !!

but i would have to pay £1,000 to have a new bridge put in .as the NHS wouldnt pay for another one to be put in
when he tookthe bridge out ,he was shocked ,and said it was made too big for my mouth
and that was why i was in so much pain and discomfort

but for some reason oit never got any better even with new bridge in
my only conclusion was there was so much damage there the other dentist could only do the best what he could to try to rectify the damage done in first place

finally got to stage i had to have the bridge taken out and a denture put in its place
it cost me a fortune with bridges and another one and pain killers and medical
and time off work because it made me ill
people pressured me into suing the dentist

i tried and got a inexperienced solicitor who tried suing wrong dentist ,but anyway i couldnt afford to go ahead with suing the dentist even though i had a report from a dentist that deals with finding problems
saying what i was saying and the bridge had to come out

anyway rather go on i thought i give you a bit of a run down what happened to me

well years passed and seems every dentist i go to damage my teeth
and i am in pain and discomfort still in my bottom teeth
went to several dentist to sort me out

for a while couldnt understand why i cant get a dentist to sort me out
they either give me different diognosis from another one

got to stage where i thought i must be getting paronoid as they cant know me ?
how wrong can i be !!

even my boyfirnd thought i was being paronoid ,.but even he started to believe me in end

and today just proves it ,i went round my parents tonight
and i just mentioned his dentist he used to go to ,as i was going to try his one
when he finalyl told me ,he didnt go any more to them as shr found out i was his daughter
and my dad ended up having a row with them

so it seems my name is on their computer ,and in their meetings they have obviously spoken about me and my attempt to sue a dentist

i didnt want to sue in first place ,but i had suffered and spent a lot of money and it was just hundred pounds it was in the thousands
all i wanted was some money back what i paid out
and all i want now is someone to sort me out

it seems ive paid out thousand pounds more ,all my life savings ,and no better than when i first started

but it seems i will never get sorted out because i cant find a dentist who will sort me out

it seems only way i get out of this viscious circle ,is to have all my teeth out ,and have dentures then i wont have to go to a dentist again

but ,i dont want to have dentures at bottom it scares me to death but now i dont know what to do ?

i always wondered when i first went to a dentist they were ok with me and willing to help me ,then after 2nd or 3rd visit ,their attitude towards me changed

now i dont know where to go or where to turn too

i am due to go to a dentist thursday ,but my confidence in him ive lost as he broke a crown i had recently had done ,taking a tooth out next to it and one other side
and he is tempting to do a root canal on a tooth that is bit mobile ,and to me is weak ,and even himself said its possible it could break
but im also scared incase he breaks teeth either side of them leaving me gummy

i am so scared i dont know what to do for the best
i got no where to go it seems no where in this country i can be treated fairly

all i want is to be sorted out and im in no pain any more ,i didnt want to sue then i and i wouldnt or dont now

any advice ?

Re: over the years in pain and i never stood a chance getting sorted

It sure sounds like you have been through the ringer with dentists. There must be a dental association in London that could make recommendations for you for a dentist and also regulates dental care in your country. Good luck with all of this.

Re: over the years in pain and i never stood a chance getting sorted

i sure have been through it ,a few have said to me apart from trying to sue a dentist ,they also know ,how i am with my teeth ,and will pay to get them sorted !!
which is true i have used practically all my savings on my teeth
but now i cant afford to get much more done
also will cost me a fortune on what can be done ,but i just cant find a decent independant dentist who will sort me out the best they can !!

but no there isnt anywhere i can go like you say ,theyre should be a place where they keep on eye out on dentstry bodies

but we all like to try to keep out teeth if possible as long as possible
but i am in a position ,where i cannot get a ending to all this
my only way to end all this ,is to have my teeth all taken out so i dotn have to go to a dentist again

but if you wear dentures you know how uncomfortable they are?
i already ahve a denture up top with 3 teeth in it and its not comfortable as it is
and im petrified having bottom ones as they are more harder to get on with

i just wish i could see a dentist who is prepared to ignore others and treat me as an individual and sort me out once and for all

yes i had good reasons why i tried to sue a dentist and i wouldnt dream of doing it otherwise
but at end of the day i never went through with it ,because i couldnt afford too

maybe only way to find a decent dentist who wouldnt judge me ,is someone abroad
but who do i trust ? and who are good ? and where?

thank you by the way for replying ,as a reply and what you say is a lot of support to me at this time
thank you again

Re: over the years in pain and i never stood a chance getting sorted

thursday i go back to my dentist ,i am petrified ,he thinks he is going to be doing a root canal on my tooth
but im going to be asking him to replace a denture do me a new one for the top
as i am too scared for him, to touch the teeth, im concerned about at bottom.
im just going to ask him to clean round them and file them down a bit
not sure what that will do

tell the truth, i dont think doing root canal, to the tooth is the answer
i think its a gum problem ,and a mobile tooth due to the gums
but tell the truth ,i dont think any dentist will be happy until i have all my teeth out

i mean if i let my dentist do the root canal on the tooth, what if he breaks the tooth?
and on past experience not only breaking that one tooth ,but teeth either side
leaving me gummy at bottom as i already have 2 teeth missing on right side of my mouth
couldnt face going out of surgery without any teeth

anyone got any suggestions or idea's ,what i can say to my dentist once i get there?

i have already asked him previous ,about whether its possible he could break the tooth if he done the root canal
he said it is possible it would break ,well he cant guarantee me it wont break

Re: over the years in pain and i never stood a chance getting sorted

I would call your dentist office tomorrow and tell the staff about your conerns. Ask the dentist to call you back so you can discuss what your options are. I've had several root canals and none of my teeth have been broken only when removing a crown once did the dentist break the tooth.
