elcollier, I have been experiencing the same symptoms for 11 months now. After many different Dr. visits & tests I went to an Oral Medicine Specialist. She said it could be 1 of 4 things..1.burning mouth syndrome- Possibly caused by hormonal changes which they are now treating with low doses of antidepressents. (They are still not sure why this helps) 2. Silent Gerd- which I will need to see a Gastro Dr. to find out for sure. 3. Chronic Sinusitis-I will need to see an ENT or 4. Vitamin or Iron deficiency.
If you can go to an Oral Medicine Specialist. I found mine at the dental school at a Big University Hospital. She is going to work with me till we get this figured out!
I hope this helps you some! & keep us posted on what you find out too. Sometimes this symptom can also be caused by something as simple as a side affect from a medication. The Oral Surgeon I saw said his Father had it but was caused by his medication.
